Sorry yall - life has been doing me the last couple of weeks. Significant challenges in the career (my workplace, where I’ve been for almost ten years now, has gotten steadily more dysfunctional over the past three or four years and it’s come to a head), T had surgery last week the recovery from which makes it difficult for him to work for six weeks, and tough finances means way less...

Hooray!!! Congratulations!!! : ) : ) : ) So excited for you two : ) kimijoy: Waking up next to my future husband is an amazing feeling. Yeah. He proposed. I, of course, said yes! For those of you who are my friends on Facebook or Twitter, please don’t mention it there yet. We still have a few people to tell in person. But I just couldn’t wait to tell you all.

Gives him a chance to burn energy and you a chance to recover. Yeah, I appreciate your looking for the opportunity in that situation, but I don’t think an extra walk is going to happen today....

navadoeslife replied to your post: Ugh. It was so cold that I wasn’t sure if running… Glad you overcame everything to get out there and crank it out! And smart move on leaving the puppy at home—bet he enjoyed the warmth and laziness of his Saturday! Wish I could say the same about my puppy…2 miles before my run and 1.25 after my run. Man, I wish Mingus worked like that. He’s going...

Ugh. It was so cold that I wasn’t sure if running in it for that amount of time would aggravate Mingus’ proclivity to pancreatitis, so he stayed home. Good lord. My legs were comfortable enough (I actually don’t mind cold legs) but the muscles never warmed up and were stiff the whole way. It was like trying to manipulate play-dough that had been stored in the fridge. Today...

Ha! Since when is -15 windchill “not too bad,” Florida? ; ) I saw you were running eight miles too - have a great run! I’m sure the pup will love it : )

I suppose it breathes better if I don’t cover it in a vest though, huh ; ) ETA: OR… are you trying to tell me...

runningwithguts replied to your post: Yesterday’s run Hahaha, 23F and I wear a thick tech on top of a tee with a pair of tights and a pair of throw away cotton gloves. And winter running is the ONLY thing that I enjoy about winter. Awesome run, though! Yeah, I’m starting to think it’s the windproof vest that’s doing me in - I have this extra-awesome technical jacket in...

Yesterday's run
13 miles 2:12:02 No lie - it was tough. The route was more hilly than I’m accustomed to, which is good - hills make you stronger - but I went out too fast and didn’t do enough walk breaks at the beginning. The last four miles were hell. But, I had excellent company (my colleague’s husband is a crazy marathon runner, he’s done over 100, and regularly commuted - commuted! -...

girl gone running: NavaDoesLife →
A great post highlighting two great fitblrs. Nava has been a huge source of accountability and encouragement to me, too. And Tish is new to tumblr, documenting her journey and worth a follow.  Have I mentioned I love the fitblr community?  girlgonerunning: NavaDoesLife She believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. For months I followed her journey on tumblr because she started where...

Image credit Yep, it’s official - I think I’m at a plateau. I’ve weighed pretty much the same, within about 3-4 pounds, since October.  The good news: apparently I am a rockstar at maintaining. Awesome, but I don’t want to maintain just yet.  The bad news: It used to be - well, not easy, but doable - to lose weight. Now it seems like I need to put forward a heraculean...
