Inspired by BenDoesLife. Early thirties, working to get to an average BMI, vegan. Adult-onset runner; completed two marathons with Team In Training and now I can't stop running. Go figure.

Yeah, I just ate an entire 9x9 pan of rice crispy treats for dinner. Stressed out and exhausted with dog health drama (Mingus threw up his breakfast about 30 minutes before he was about to get his dinner. How that works I have no idea. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t require another $200 of lab diagnostics.)

Bonnie seems to be much better - she’s about 75% her old self. Not nearly so listless. We hear about lab results in a couple of days.

Did I mention the almost $1k vet bill resulting from all of this?

Not an excuse, mind you. The whole purpose of this blog is to unlearn these habits. Waiting for life to be rosy to live a healthy lifestyle is a disastrous strategy. This past year has been pretty solid, but tonight is proof it takes time to unlearn 30ish years of firmly-rooted synaptic pathways. There will always be a “crisis” - large or small - that somehow in my head will require eating to deal with. It’s got to stop, period.

All I can do now is prepare food for success tomorrow.
